A creative writer, researcher and professor at Chuo University, Japan, a country where he has lived for many years, Michaël Ferrier was born to a family with a very rich and diverse ancestry: Alsace, Mauritius, Madagascar, India … In his early years, he lived in several countries, Chad and Madagascar included. A graduate from the École Normale Supérieure, he holds an agrégation as well as a doctorate from Paris-Sorbonne (Céline et la chanson,Ed. du Lérot, 2004).

It is actually difficult to give adequate credit to the quality and quantity of his published works in a succinct statement. Ferrier received the Prix Edouard Glissant for his overall achievement. Recently, he was invited to contribute an article on Georges Perec (Cahier Perec, L’Herne, 2016), and is currently working on other fictional texts. Penser avec Fukushima, under the direction of Christian Doumet and Michaël Ferrier, Ed. Cécile Defaut, came out in September 2016
