The France-Florida Research Institute is launching its 2024 project with a focus on Environmental Humanities and the French and Francophone World. With the expertise of specialists in French Studies and Environmental Humanities, we will explore the French and Francophone stances regarding the environment. Our goal is to understand the dimensions of the ecological crisis and examine the interconnectedness of humans and nature, the importance of diversity, and the need for change.
We are planning the following events (final dates TBA):
> A lecture series: The Genealogy of Ecological Thought (Fall 2024 & Spring 2025)
> The night of Ideas 2025: Oceanian ecocriticism (Spring)
> A round table: The Dynamics of Gardens (April 2025)
